These days just going to practice is not good enough. Elite athletes train year round & rely on a team of coaches & trainers to be the best. At Kenosha Personal Training, we offer a unique bio-mechanical approach.
Our Sport-Specific Training Philosophy:
The major difference between training for athletic-performance -vs- training for general fitness is specificity. Each sport or activity has its own unique movements that are particular to that sport & vital to performance.
Movements not only vary from sport-to-sport; but they can also vary from position-to-position and/or events within a sport. That's why our trainers conduct a "movement analysis" of the athlete first to determine the most common movements/motions used during competition.
Once the specific movements are determined, a training program is developed of exercises & drills that mimic these exact movements. Then "Progressive Training" principles are applied such as: increased resistance, time-under-tension, speed-of-movement, duration, repetitions, etc.

For example, if the athlete's sport requires jumping off of two feet (as in basketball, volleyball, or gymnastics) then a plyometrics program is developed to improve the power & speed for this particular type of jump. One option is to use blocks to progressively challenge the athlete to jump higher & higher.
When muscles are trained in the exact same way they are used in competition the athlete becomes faster, stronger, more adept and ultimately better. Sport-specific training also prevents injury & instills confidence.
Athletes who train specifically for their sport/event will almost always outperform athletes who don't.

Sport-specific training gets results!
